"It started very nasally, like your classic monster
voice. Then I slowly realised that it was about
opening up and relaxing the larynx and using the
diaphragm. When you think about portraying these
dark thoughts and the truth as it were, for me, often
when I'm really centred in telling the truth I'm much
lower. It's not chaotic. I'm not scrabbling for the idea
or plucking it out of nowhere, it's internal and therefore
it falls out.”

Channelling the villainous voice and persona of Vecna
in the enamoured Stranger Things Season 4, Jamie Campbell
Bower reflects on his eight-hour costume transformation, tales
of set life and the moodboarding methods that come with
preparing to play a beast.
