“I am no longer comparing myself to the woman
I thought I'd be. I'm embracing the woman that
I am.”
KIRBY may not be an instantly recognisable
KIRBY may not be an instantly recognisable
name. But the Memphis-born, Mississippi-raised
singer-songwriter and activist – a title she’s still
interpreting – is the magician behind some of
pop’s most pre-eminent stars; conjuring songs
for the likes of Ariana Grande and Beyoncé, and
writing alongside Kanye West on the acclaimed
track "FourFiveSeconds". Following on from the
successful release of her debut EP “Sis” last
year – a profound tale of a powerful woman in
love – KIRBY is ready to leave the shadow of
other musicians and step into the glow of her
own hypnotic melodies, gracing the world with
her retro-futurist soul and painstakingly
vulnerable lyrics.

KIRBY talks releasing her new project, and
presenting her authentic self through her work –
layered with triumphs and failures– infused with
all the complexities that complete a person.
