Michael B. Jordan wears COACH on the cover of our Autumn/Fall 2020 Issue.

From the projects he endorses publicly to the opportunities he’s creating

behind the scenes, actor and producer Michael B. Jordan is at the forefront

of positive change in Hollywood.

Since his breakout role in Fruitvale Station in 2013, Jordan has graced our

screens with an eclectic range of nuanced and powerful performances,

from Rocky spin-off sequel Creed, to the hugely impactful Marvel

superhero movie Black Panther alongside the late Chadwick Boseman,

Lupita Nyong'o and Letitia Wright.

Most recently he produced and starred in Just Mercy — a film based on the

memoir of Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative — on which

he partnered with Warner Media to set up a first-of-its-kind inclusion policy.

Using his position to initiate change from the top, Jordan also set up his own

production company, Outlier Society, in 2016, which focuses on magnifying a

range of diverse voices in the entertainment industry. As one of the first to

publicly adopt and encourage an inclusion rider, Outlier Society has

co-produced films like Fahrenheit 451 and acclaimed drama series

David Makes Man, while the Outlier Society Fellowship Programme

works to build a new, fairer foundation for the next generation.

With integrity and charm that have seen him become not only one of the

most respected, but well-loved successes in Hollywood, Jordan is using his

power to be the change he wants to see — not just in the stories he brings

to life, but by supporting the communities they come from and amplifying

the messages they hold.

For our Autumn/Fall 2020 issue, Jordan chats to his friend Jerry Lorenzo,

designer and founder of luxury streetwear label Fear of God, about the

lessons he’s learnt this year, using his influence to uplift the next generation

and the impact he wants his work to have.
