Not many SoundCloud producers end up with a Whitney Houston collaboration on their résumé. But if anyone has finessed merging another artist’s sound with his own, giving them both space to shine whilst creating something entirely new in the process, it’s Kygo. Since first mixing electronic music in his college dorm during the rise of EDM in the early 2010’s, the Norwegian DJ and record producer has made music with everyone from Selena Gomez to Ryan Tedder, pioneered the tropical house genre and set up his own headphones, speakers and accessories brand Kygo Life. Mid-way through his residency in Vegas, we spoke with Kygo about creating his own business, collaborating with the greats and the legacy he wants to leave for our AW19 issue.
