“We haven’t even finished filming the show yet and there’s already

so much media attention and such a huge fandom. Everybody has

something to say about it, and I can’t add to the conversation. It’s

kind of overwhelming. But I’m so excited for the audience to be

caught off guard!”

In March 2020 it was announced that Whitney Peak, then known

for her recurring role in Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,

was joining a superlative (and very much Insta-famous) cast for

the highly anticipated upcoming Gossip Girl reboot. The

announcement, for Peak at least, happened as part of a wider

whirlwind that she is only just coming to terms with. Covering

our Spring issue, Peak takes us from her audition process through

to filming during the pandemic and the ever-growing pandemonium

around the show, reflecting on secrecy around her character and

why fame still feels unfathomable.
