“For me, experimenting with a new sound, I
had to make sure the people don’t confuse
it from where it’s coming from. I had to make
sure people don’t forget where Wiz is from,
what Wiz represents. It’s a big change in my
sound, you know? From the last album until
now. I felt like it was very important for me
to call this album Made In Lagos.”
With his new album Made In Lagos, WizKid
reminds us that although his sound is
ever-evolving, it will always represent his
roots. In conversation with producer, artist
and DJ Juls, he unpacks his inspirations for
the record, pushing each other creatively
in the studio, and the importance of staying
in his own lane.
